I'm Elisa

(math genius)

I'm an amateur and sometimes professional artist. Multi-discipline. Multi-crazy.

This is my personal blog.

I'm not really a math genius. I dig several things: electronic music, folk, indie, synths, sci-fi, reading, philosophy, writing, geekery, pop culture, fashion, amusing things, super dimentional fortress, London, literature, arts, ballet, symphony, opera, avant garde, coffee, chinese food, I was born in the 80's, I like animals, I'm friendly but my Anxiety Disorder and ADHD make me a hyperactive recluse, befriend me, follow me, reblog me, ask me things, etc. Elisa x

Who am I?

This is me. My name is Elisa Gonzalez but you can call me Ela. I’m a maker of music and songs, drawings and paintings, needle felted wool creatures, and things like that. I post my own things, and reblogs, I try to credit most of them but sometimes I don’t find them! I also post a lot about ADHD cause it’s a big part of my life. But mostly art and crafts and music, and things I find amusing or funny or interesting.

I’m a maker of music and songs, drawings and paintings, needle felted wool creatures, and things like that.

This has happened:

1982: In August 17th I was born and that very same day the first Compact Discs (CDs) were released to the public in Germany.

1986: Me and my brother were almost killed due to accidental poisoning with carbon monoxide and that same year The Voyager 2 space probe made its first encounter with Uranus.

1997: I got my first computer and started using graphics editing programs. I also enrolled in the Institute of Communications, Arts and Humanities of Monterrey, and learned a lot about, yes… communications and arts and, oh, the humanities!!

2000: Even though everyone was freaking out about the end of the world and computers turning against humans. Nothing major happened.

2005: I got married and my agents at the time (Debut Art) got me my first illustration gig for an erotica magazine which gives me the giggles. Also I started my music project “The Mocks

2010: Relocated to London, UK. It had always sort of been my childhood ‘dream’ to live in Europe and be all bohemian and artsy like Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec or Salvador Dali and smoke and eat cheese and drink wine… but I realized, I’m still the same nerd I was back home but now home is London.

2011: I didn’t like 2011 that much, because my dad died, and the whole year was basically ruined, but I started my new project, Math Genius.

2012: I started to needle-felt tiny sculptures of weird creatures and animals and since they were kind of odd and monstrous and my friends started to buy them and be all interested in them, thus came the idea of opening a “Monstroddities” shop on Etsy. The name, I suppose is pretty much self-explanatory.

Anyways, since I started working as a musician/illustrator I’ve been featured in magazines for both things, such as Rolling Stone Magazine in Mexico and Mac User Magazine in America, etc. I was also selected for a feature in the UK’s Association of Illustration’s book “Images” for it’s 32d edition and my family was like “OMG, we’re sooo proud of you”, quite nice, actually. I have ADHD since I was a little kid. I like animals, specially the furry ones, but also the feathery ones. I’m married and I have 0 children.

Anyways, enough of the cheese.
